I don't have any link to you although one of my ancestors (1700s) was a RENFREW. I would like to offer this:

1) order a copy of your birth certificate if you don't already have it. It should have your father's name on it.

2) I found the info in the next paragraph on the SSDI (Social Security Death Index) at . I copied it only because it had Massachusetts as the state of issue. Don't know if it's meaningful or not. You can order a copy of the SS-5 from the Social Security Administration for $27.00. It will have some personal info on it such as parents names and place of residence at the time it was filed.
