I am 7th generation descendant of James
and Margaret Smith Renfrew who came to Ryegate
Vt from Renfrewshire in 1804.Ryegate was settled directly from Scotland by the Scots-
American Company of Farmers in 1774. The names
that you are researching are probably connected with Ryegate, which was the largest
Scots setlement in Vt. If you can give me more
names and dates, I can do research in the
local history.
