Origins of Renfrew name

yep its definitely Scottish, I live about 5 miles from Renfrew itself.

I am currently doing a lot of research into the local history of the area, and so far have been unable to find out how the name Renfrew came about, but if I find out I will post more here. There doesn't seem to be a major family of the name Renfrew in the area, which is how most of the towns & villages have got there names from historically.
