Cab Renick, abt 1950, Bartlesville, OK

The information I posted here about Joshua Renick, son of Robert Renick and Elizabeth Archer, also appeared elsewhere, and drew a
question about whether Joshua could be the ancestor of Cab Renick of Bartlesville, OK.

Does anyone here recognize or claim Cab Renick?

Here is what I know about Cab:

"Hello Ralph,
Am intrigued by the name Renick. I wonder if a descendant of your Joshua might have been someone usually cited as of a quite different tribe
from the Shawnee--namely, "Cab" Renick, a great basketball player for the 1948 Olympic champion basketball team I seem to remember,
who I believe was said to be Choctaw. He used to play for the Phillips 66ers team, listed as amateurs so they could go to the Olympics, and
they played in my home town of Bartlesville, Oklahoma--or rather, since we lived five miles west in the country at Buck Creek, my high
school town and the home town of Frank Phillips. Don't know where his surname is from. Could he be a descendant of the guy who stayed
with the Shawnees? Or did that guy's kids not use the name Renick? It does not seem that common."
