On the South-Central-Kentucky list today (29 March 04) Sandi Gorin posted from the Barren Co., KY Order Book 1 - Sept. 1802:

Held Monday, 27 Sept 1802 with William RENIC(K), Thomas FLIPPIN, Wm. RICHARDSON & William WELSH, esquires. Last will & testament of James BLACK decd. proved by oaths of John ROBERTSON & James HOWELL. Edward YOUNG, one of the Executors named went into bond with Henry RENICK. John HAMILTON Jr.,
Executor of John HAMILTON decd. went bond with William COURTS & Thomas WHITE. Road report from Charles HAMMONSON to John SAUNDERS returned. John GARNETT, James NEVIL, William RENICK & James HOWELL to appraise estate of James BLACK, decd.

My question is: can anyone tell me more abut this James Black? Who did he marry? Who his parents and siblings were? Where other members of his family migrated after they left Barren Co., KY?
I'm trying to see if this James Black is related to the Black who married into my Bowles/Woods/Smith/Jeffries family.
