Renick Family Genealogy Forum
I have been looking for Rennick/Renick information related to two women who married into my maternal family lines. I have traced these family lines to Pickaway Co., OH, and this is what I have on the two Rennick/Renick women:
Rachel Rennick married Joseph Van Meter in 1805 in Ross Co., OH (Pickaway Co. was formed from Ross and other counties); Joseph Van Meter is buried in Circleville Twp., Pickaway Co. And, Cecilia Renick, b. abt. 1803, married Samuel Coil; Samuel died in Pickaway Co. I have verified that this Coil line lived in Darbyville but I have not been able to determine where Samuel or Cecilia may be buried. Also, there is a Renick Cemetery near Darbyville that we visited last spring. Unfortunately, the cemetery is overgrown in brush & trees and there are only a handful of headstones, none of which have Renick surnames (only two or three of the headstones are still readable). A man who lives near the cemetery told us that some young boys had vandalized the cemetery many years ago and destroyed some headstones. We did not try to take photos of the Renick Cemetery because of its overgrown foliage. I would be very interested in any Renick information you have that is associated with Darbyville/Pickaway Co. If there is anything else that I can send to you, let me know. For example, I have the names & birthdates of the children of Samuel & Cecilia Renick Coil.
