Re. Christian Renick of Maine? Answer is no!
While doing research for the Renick Pioneer Book I discovered almost all Renick famalies in America descend from George Renick who arrived in Paxtang Pennsylvania about 1719, Let me assure you that all the Barren County Renick clan were related and I have met several descendants that still live in the area. I also have some info on Strother Renick and spoke with some of his descendants in 1979 while writing the book. My Great Grandfather left Barren county for Indiana about 1860 but in his own book of Poems he tells of his family back to Pre Revolution days. There are some African-Americans who adopted our name after slavery was abolished and I have met a few who were not in our tree and came to America Later. Very few.We are the 15000 least popular surname with .001% frequency.Hope this helps. http://home.att.net/~sy13/Pioneers.html
