Kay and Sandra, I have an ancestor who is also a Feby/Phebe Renick. She was married to James Neville 1803 in Barren Co., KY. Her birth date varies from 1775 to 1782 but throughout she claims Virginia as her birth place. Phebe shows up in Barren Co., KY in 1796 brought by Samuel Renick (of the William Renick clan in PA). There was a court case in KY in which Phebe testified and made it clear that she was not Samuel's daughter. Samuel was married at this time to Nancy Ann _______ and he was b. about 1738 and d. 1801 Barren Co., Ky. in 1778 he was appointed guardian of Mary and William Renick, his brother Alexander's children. That was in Cumberland Co., PA. 1781 he was on the Augusta, VA tax list and 1784 on the Rockbridge, VA tax list. Does it seem strange that he began in PA and went to VA and then to KY? Also, I wonder if he belongs on the VA side of the Renicks. His first born was named Robert and no other of his sibs have sons by that name. Also seems all the Feby's are on the VA side too. Maybe there is a VA Samuel too. Any help or clues would be appreciated.
