My gg grandmother was Sarah Whitten Renick (1797-1873), dau of Samuel & Ruth (Hall) Renick. Samuel was a son of William and Sarah (Archer) Renick. Sarah Whitten Renick m. William D. McRay (my gggf) on Oct 26, 1820 in Cooper Co. MO. After her husband passed on, Ruth Renick and other family memebers left Barren Co. KY and moved to Lafayette Co. MO around 1819. Ruth brought her children Sarah W., Leonard Hall, & William. Young's History of Lafayette Co. MO tells the story of the coming of the Renick clan to these parts. They were quite influential in both politics and finance. Any info that would be of help to you on this part of the Renick clan I will gladly provide!
