Jane Renick, b. 1817, Osage Reserve, KS

Through correspondence with S. Joseph Hager about the Mathews family, I came to his Civil War website, Early Slaveholders in Kansas: An Intimate Look at the Lives of a Few Pre-Territorial Kansas Settlers.

That site reproduces an attendance list for the Harmony Mission School for the year 1824-25.

In the list is Jane Renick, admitted Aug. 10, 1824, age 7, described as Osage-French.

Readers of this forum may have seen my posts on the descendants of Joshua Renick, captured by the Shawnee in 1757, who lived out his life among Indians rather than returning from captivity.

Does anyone here know of a relationship between the Renicks of VA or OH and this young Renick girl?
