That is really good news! I'm glad to know that John was Elizabeth's son. I was afraid that the old girl was REALLY robbing the cradle when she married him.
My husband grew up with his grandmother, Almedia Dickey Heun, (daughter of Charlotta Renouf Dickey)living in their home. He says he is sure that Charlotta and Luther Dickey had at least nine children. Perhaps it was six that lived beyond infancy. Almedia was the oldest, there was one brother and the youngest were twin sisters who shared the same birth day as Almedia. I'm not sure about the others. I'll have to check this out with some of my husband's older cousins and see if they have names and dates.
I have Almedia's record book of family events called "A Birthday Bouquet." It is a very small, very old leather bound volume with birth, marriage and death dates of many family members. Some may not stand up to verification but it does give me somewhere to start.
I have seen Charlotta's middle name several times as Adelia. If it wasn't Adelia, it certainly began with an "A." I have a quilt she made signed "CAD 1926." Also a photo of Charlotta (Grandmother Dickey) working on one of the blocks of this same quilt.
I have Charlotta's birth as Feb 17, 1851 in Zanesville, OH and died Feb 22, 1942. Does this sound right?
