Back on 27 Dec., 1990 Ms. Gallienne, that you mentioned, sent me the following when I was looking for my Nicholas over in Guernsey and I thought that Nicholas Robin Renouf might be him.
"I am afraid the Nicholas Renouf on the Census (1850 US census for Pennsylvania, USA) and Nicholas Robin Renouf are not the same person. The one who appears with his family on the census came from the parish of St. Martin. He was born on 2 August 1801 to Thomas Renouf and his wife Elizabeth Rougier. He married Rachel Robert in 1822. They had four children in Guernsey, Nicholas, Thomas, Rachel and John two of whom appear on your copy from the American Census."
So as you can see I am still very confused. She also sent me a lineage chart showing them with their siblings and parents. That is where I got the birth dates, parents names etc.
Did your cousin get this straight from the parish records? Or did you get it from Ms. Gallienne? If you got them from your cousin could you then please check with Ms. Gallienne to see if she gave me the wrong information. I have this particular Nicholas and his father (Thomas and his father Thomas but married to different women as you noticed)Then I have these women traced back several generations. If this is wrong then oh am I in trouble. I have over 15,000 names in my data base. Ooooooh my goodness what a mess it will be to straighten this out.
