Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. The best I can tell is that John Repp was living in Franklin County, PA in 1840 with his wife Hannah and his children taht were living at that time - the census records will demonstrate that. By 1850, John and his family show up in the Seneca County, Ohio census records, although his wife hannah and one of his older sons (I think its Peter) died ( I think the cause of death was cholera, but don't hold me to that). I was never able to put John anyplace else in PA, although there were plenty of Repps and Repperts in the State. My wife ahd done some research a number of years ago that seemed to indicate that there was a John Reppert who would ahve been born around the same time (1800) living in either Berks or Bucks County PA. The reason we thought that maybe it was my John Repp was because his siblings had the same names as his children evnetually ahd (Peter, Jacob, Catherine, ect.) Beleive me, I tried to find out. He had a son Melchor (aka "Milton") who died in the civil War, and he applied for a pension - only PA is listed as John Repp's place of birth. He has no death record here (he is buried here in Tiffin, Ohio a mile from my parent's house). I looked at the death certificates for many of this children - Adam (my G-G Grandfather), George, James, Levi and John, but they simly state that he was born in PA (I even think George's said he was born in Germany, but I've seen nothing to support that) If you ahve some ideas for me, I'd love to hear them. By the way, how does a guy with the last name of Repp end up in Texas? I know Repps are mostly in PA, OH, Iowa and OR, but Texas? Write if you get a chance........Mark
