Kathy ... I just saw your posting from Sept. '99 about a Henry Repp b. 1833 in Hesse.

Your Henry Repp sounds like a possible fit in the following story from my family.:

Henry Mueller was born in Budingen, Germany, a small medieval walled city not far from Frankfurt, Germany. His mother, MARGARET WINTER, married a man named REPP. They had one son, HENRY. REPP disappeared on a voyage to America during the Civil War. MARGARET then married a man named MUELLER. They had one child, LOUISE. HENRY took the name of his step-father MUELLER. He left Budigen for New York City about 1880. A member of the Winter family sponsored him. He was seventeen, and a printer by trade. When he had acquired sufficient funds, he sent for his mother and Louise. Later he felt the call for the ministry and became a Methodist preacher, in the then German Conference.
HENRY MUELLER & LOUISE GENSLINGER had eight children.

Do you have any other info on Henry?

Roger
