According to the US Census most of the Rettigs in the US are in Ohio and a large majority of those Rettigs reside in two counties: Henry and Hancock. If you look on the map of Ohio and look at Findlay and Napoleon, those are the county seats of those two counties. The Hancock and Henry county branches are not related, funny as that may be. Most of the Henry County Rettigs are farmers and teachers. The Hancock branch of the Rettigs are known for business. However, both branches are known for being hardheaded Germans.
