May not be related in any way, but I believe one of my ggg-grandfathers may have been Tolivar Revis b. ca 1810 in NC. His wife's name was Sophia ??? b. ca 1808 in TN. All this is according to the census records. Their children were Nancy C, John C, James W, William W, Martha M (my gg-grandmother), Sarepta J (unsure of spelling), Mary E, Vance L and Sophia A. The children were born between 1832 - 1854. In 1840 & 50, they were in Bledsoe Co, TN. During the 1850's Tolivar sold some land to James Scott and John & James remained there apparently as farmhands.
In 1860 they were in Cumberland Co. You will also find references to them in White Co, TN.
I haven't done much research on this line, but would be interested if any of these names show up in yours. Hope this helps someone.
