I didn't grow up in Port Rexton but my parents grew up in Port Rexton and vicinity therefore they would know much more than I. My grandfather was John George Rex married to a Rita Bailey on my fathers side (fathers name is Rupert Alexander William Rex). I think that he was from Champney's but moved to Port Rexton (just next door). Cataline is not far from tehre and there are still a lot of Rex's in that area though the surname is not common elsewhere at all. My mother was born a Bailey - Mary Elizabeth Bailey (grandparents Arthur Bailey and Myrtle Goldsworthy) and married a Rex so her name is the same as the person for whom you seek (Mary ELizabeth Rex)but she's not the one. Ironic.
