I am trying to find the Emma B. Roan - John Wesley Taylor. In 1900 and 1910 they indicated they were from TN, but I don't know where. They married 21 Jan 1880 in Hunt Co., TX, recorded marriage volume C page 354; he was listed as J. W. Taylor and she as Emma Roan. Their son, Clarence Dedley Taylor, said he was born 8 Jun 1888 in Loneoak, Hunt Co., TX when he applied for his Social Security card. He spelled his mother's name as RHONE. I can't find them in 1880 or in 1920. Here is what census information I have found:

1900 Limestone Co., TX census, Precinct No. 1, taken 12 Jun 1900, Supervisor's District 9, Enumeration District 53, sheet 8b, page 60b, dwelling 133-137, lines 51-61:

John W. Taylor, head, white, male, Jan 1857, 43, married 20 years, TN, TN, TN, farmer, can read and write and speaks English, rents a farm; Emma B., wife, white, female, Jan 1861, 39, married 20 years, 9 children born, 9 living, TN, TN, TN, can read and write and speaks English; Mabel, daughter, white, female, Dec 1883, 16, single, TX, TN, TN, at school for 4 months, can read and write and speaks English; Sulah, daughter, white, female, Jun 1884, 15, single, TX, TN, TN, at school for 4 months, can read and write and speaks English; Ida, white, female, Jan 1887, 13, single, TX, TN, TN, at school for 4 months, can read and write and speaks English; Clarence, son, white, male, Jun 1888, 11, single, TX, TN, TN, at school for 4 months, can read and write and speaks English; John, son, white, male, Jun 1890, 9, single, TX, TN, TN, at school for 4 months, can read and write and speaks English; Maudie, daughter, white, female, Jan 1892, 8, single, TX, TN, TN; Otto, son, white, male, Dec 1893, 6, single, TX, TN, TN; Hazel, daughter, white, female, Dec 1897, 2, single, TX, TN, TN; and Lillie, daughter, white, female, Oct 1899, 7 months, single, TX, TN, TN.

1910 Taylor Co., TX census, Justice Precinct No. 7, taken 15 Apr 1910, Supervisor's District 16, Enumeration District 268, sheet 1b, page 131b, dwelling 20-21, lines 90-95:

John W. Taylor, head, male, white, 53, married, 30 years, TN, TN, TN, can read and write and speaks English, farmer on a general farm; Ember B., wife, female, white, 49, married 30 years, 14 children born, 9 living, TN, TN, TN, can read and write and speaks English; Clarence D., son, male, white, 21, single, TX, TN, TN, can read and write and speaks English, laborer on farm; Hazel E., daughter, female, white, 13, single, TX, TN, TN, can read and write and speaks English, attended school; Lillie B., daughter, female, white, 9, single, TX, TN, TN; and Millie D., daughter, female, white, 6, TX, TN, TN. Son, Otto, was living next-door to his parents as a hired hand in the household of James R. Driver.

1930 Callahan Co., TX census, Precinct 1, Baird City, taken 8 Apr 1930, Supervisor's District 8, Enumeration District 30-1, Sheet 8b, page 63b, dwelling 182-193, lines 67-68:

Emma B. Taylor, head, rents - pays no rent, does not have a radio and does not live on a farm, female, white, 69, widow, did not attend school, can read and write and speaks English, TN, TN, TN; and J. Geraldine Taylor, granddaughter, female, white, 10, single, attended school, can read and write and speaks English, TX, TX, TX.

Elsie R. and Leslie C. Reynolds lived on one side, and Emma Johnson lived on the other side. They all lived on First Street.

I don't know what happened to any of the daughters, or what happened to sons John and Otto. Perhaps John died between 1900 and 1920 because they had another child in 1910 and Emma indicated four children were dead, yet they still had 9 living children.
