How very nice to hear from another new cousin! Yes, I feel that Amanda is the sister of my great grandmother, Margaret and her sister, Margil Levinia.Margaret & Levinia married my great grandfather.Margaret d. 1891 and my James Robert Jones m. Vinie.
When you mentioned Elmina as one of the children of Amanda, know it is the right Amanda. It was the name of her mother, wife of Redding. We had the name Elmira/Elmina/Elvira..never knew it for certain. Couldn't make out the spelling.Later, it was Ellen in the census and we wondered if that was a nickname or a new wife.
So happy to have you write.Never knew what happened to Amanda or some of the others.I have a few of the brothers & sisters.I have a picture of Redding, brother of our Amanda, Margaret & Vinie, that someone sent me from Calhoun Co.
How can I help you?I can go back to John in Bulloch Co. and know he was closely associated with Jesse Rhymes/Rimes in Halifax Co., NC and all the other Rimes in that state.
Redding is both my gg grandfather and my ggg grandfather.Another son, Virgil P. Rimes became my gg grandfather on my paternal Jones side.My grandfather married his second cousin through Virgil P.
Believe me, if you haven't done a lot with all the 16 children of Redding & Elmina, in my lines it gets very confusing.
How can I help you?
Cousin Betty in Birmingham
