I am interested in information about the family of Jacob and Caroline [Fuller]Rhyne. They were my great-great-great grandparents.I want to know how they ended up there since they were married in Illinois and what Jacob Rhyne did.How did they end up in Illinois.Who were Caroline's parents and her family.
Their daughter Leonora Rhyne married my great-great-grandfather James W. Gilges in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1865. Her brother Miles talks about James visiting their home during the Civil War in documents requesting in support of a Union pension for James.Did they live on a plantation?Did Jacob and Caroline die near the time James and Leonora were married? My grandmother thought Leonora Rhyne had been raised on a plantation with slaves and was orphaned at some point. All the details don't quite fit.
