I am researching my family line and have hit a brick wall with the ancestors of Valentine Brown. Valentine was born 1755 in Rhode Island and married first Seviah Spink and then Bethany (Briggs). Valentine settled in the area of Half Moon, New York and served in the Revolutionary War in the Albany 12th Militia commanded by Col. Jacobus van Schoonhoven. . Mention is made in a handwritten statement by Rev. George Wesley Brown, grandson of Valentine, that he was descended from Chad Brown. Chad Brown left with Roger Williams to create a new colony due to religious persecution. This was told to George by his great uncle, Amos Brown, who was either a brother or half-brother to Valentine. I have been researching this for years and would appreciate any assistance that can be given on Valentine and Amos. Thank you.
