Thank you for your reply. My problen is trying to connect Mary Ann to this Flanagan family. I have a record that shows Mary Ann and Charles Garberg married in EG in 1868, so she would not show as a Flanagan in 1870. The 1860 Census shows a Mary L. Looking at the image, I think that "L" could be an "A". My problem is that there may be two Wm & Maria/Mariah families in EG at that time. I have a record of EG births from the Town Clerks office. It shows "Honora Flanagan" born in 1852. Marriage records show Honora's marriage record in EG in 1870. In both records, Maria's maiden name is listed as Colgham. Maria Colgham & Wm Flanagan were married in EG in 1852. The Flanagans listed in the 1860 & 1870 Census shows the some of the kids born in Ireland, and some in RI. My mom used to mention "Aunt Nora Flanagan". The 1930 Census shows a Nora Flanagan living with my mother's family. It lists her as a 70 yo widow. My attempts to find out which Flanagan she married turned up nothing. She does show up in City directories. I found a death record on John Patrick Flanagan. He died at my Grandparent's home after being hit by a car. The record shows Wm & Maria as parents and John born in North Kingstown, RI. I emailed the RI Archives, and they have nothing on that birth. He lived elsewhere in EG when he died. It looks like my grandmother gave the information. I have been able to connect the next generation (Mary Ann's) to my family. Elizabeth A Flanagan (1857-1937) married William Bell. I knew their kids..my mom's cousins. William E Flanagan (1858 - 1920) married Ellen Bell. I remember one of their kids...mom's cousin. If I could just be sure of getting the right people noted for my gr-gr grandparents, I will be be done with my search. Notify Administrator about this message?
