My great-grandfather was ELIE PONTBRIAND SR. (b.31 Dec 1848 / d.1925) who was married to DELIA DUMAS (b.1861 / d.1935). They were married 9 Oct 1877 in Contrecoeur, Vercheres, Quebec.
There is some confusion with the name ELIE PONTBRIAND ... as there were 3 men by this same name all living in Manville at one time. My great-grandfather had a son named ELIE PONTBRIAND JR. who died young (in his 30's)... and was buried in Woonsocket. From looking up cemetery records I've found an ELIE PONTBRIAND buried in Precious Blood Cemetery that matches my mother's description of him.
This ELIE PONTBRIAND JR. was married to GEORGIANNA DESRUISSEAUX. They were the parents of 2 girls - FABIOLA PONTBRIAND and DOLORES PONTBRIAND ... and a boy named GLORIA PONTBRIAND ... who died as an infant (2/3 years old). According to my mother - she was told by my grandmother, MARY PONTBRIAND, that her brother ELIE JR. died of a "broken heart" after losing his only son.
Aside from my great-grandfather and my grand-uncle ... there was another ELIE PONTBRIAND who lived in the "Brick Blocks" in Manville. My great-grandfather ELIE PONTBRIAND SR. lived on Railroad Street (i've been told). The ELIE PONTBRIAND that lived in the Brick Blocks is believed to be a 1st cousin or 2nd cousin of my great-grandfather (but that has yet to be proven). While the connection between "my Elie" and "Brick Block Elie" is not certain... I know that I am related to some of the branches descended from this ELIE PONTBRIAND from the Brick Blocks through my connections with the DUMAS, LAPRADE and LECLERC families. But I believe there are even more ties through the two ELIE's... which is why I am writing here.
I want to find out the name of the wife of the ELIE PONTBRIAND that lived in the Brick Blocks... and I want to find out his parentage... and great-grandparents if at all possible. I believe that knowing his parents & great-grandparents is the key to figuring out how closely we are related.

I have a suspicion that ELIE PONTBRIAND (from the Brick Blocks) may be the son of PIERRE PONTBRIAND + EMELIE CHAMPAGNE (My great-grandfather ELIE's uncle & aunt). There is a PIERRE PONTBRIAND living in the Brick Blocks not far from ELIE PONTBRIAND ... so they could be brothers. This is just a hunch though...

This is all that I know about the three ELIE's ...
I'm hoping that with this information some of you out there who are also interested in this family can help me to piece things together.
The main thing i'm looking for is information about ELIE PONTBRIAND from the Brick Blocks (b. 1875). The more info about his lineage and his marriage... children... etc... the better.
Also any information about children of JEAN-BAPTISTE PONTBRIAND or JACQUES PONTBRIAND would be welcome and GREATLY appreciated.
