Israel Harrington or Herendeen Rev. War Soldier

Israel Harrington was from Smithfield, Rhode Island. He married on 06 Mar 1772 to Rhoda Mann, who was the daughter of Andrew Mann. Rhoda was born in Nov 1747.
Israel was born on 12 Jun 1754 and was the son of William and Ann (Hamon) Harrington who later moved to Easton, Washington County, New York.

Israel Harrington served in the Revolutionary War from Smithfield, RI. His surname is also spelled as Herendeen. He was a Revolutionary War Pension File W 19026. In that file is a statement form his wife, which includes the following information:

       Israel was the son of William Harrington. He was in the battle of Lexington. He served as a sergeant for Capt. Abraham Tourtillott. Israel married Rhoda Mann in Glocester, Rhode Island. They moved in 1780 to North Adams in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. About 1783 they moved on to Easton, Washington County, New York. Israel Harrington died in Easton on 06 Apr 1812. Rhoda married 2nd on 30 Nov 1830 to Ebenezer Shelly. Rhoda died on 01 Nov 1844. References are made to the children of Israel and Rhoda Harrington:

                     Chad Harrington born about 1773 in Rhode Island
                     Charles Harrington born 19 Apr 1774 in Rhode Island
                     Polly Harrington born in Rhode Island
                     James Harrington born in Rhode Island

In 1846 Chad Harrington was living in Lyons, Wayne County, New York. Charles Harrington was living in Easton, Washington County, NY. Polly Harrington was living in Canandaigua, Ontario County, NY. According to this file as of 03 Apr 1847 the only surviving child was Charles Harrington.

       Silas Harrington, brother of the soldier was living in Johnsburg, NY in 1844 and stated that Captain Abraham Tourtillott was his cousin. In 1846 Mrs. Mary Harrington, widow of Richard Harrington, brother of the solider, was living in Easton, NY. There is also a Simon Harrington mentioned in this record who was living in Easton in 1846 but his relationship to the soldier is not stated.
