Richard, We tried the RI State Archives and Mr. Barnette also tried for us. He kept at it for a couple of weeks, but the Archives insist their records don't include the reform school. Every place else we both tried said they didn't have the records and had the same attitude that there is no medical or other equally important reason for them to go to the trouble of trying to locate the records. We were also told that even if they did find the reform school records, that because they were about children, they would have been sealed. I will try the RI Secretary of State. Maybe he will know where the records are.
