The meaning of the name RIAL
Posted by: Francisco Guillermo Rial Castillo Date: September 25, 2001 at 16:05:49

I am a member of the RIAL Family here in Uruguay, South America. Descendant of Don Francisco Rial Lorenzo and Martina Costas Rial de Rial of Galitzia, Spain. My ancestors
came down to America in the 1800s. Now we have a very large Family in just about all the Sates of my Country. I am a botanist myself and most of the family members are related to the forest and saw mill industries. Our Family name is Patronimical from a place called "El Rial" and originally the name of our forefathers was "Del Rial" which means "from the rial". A Rial is a group of rķas. Rķa is a special type of river tipical from that part of the celtic coast of Galicia. Other branches of our family are in the USA. Germany, Argentina and Australia. We would like to hear from them. Thank you and good bye!.
