My line: the Ryles of NC/KY. There were Ryles found in the village of Echeles, called Ruyhul (another spelling), which Richard de Ruyhul held in 1318. Most Chester & Lancashire Royles & Ryles spring from this spot, including the late Bishop of Liverpool.
According to cousin's research, variations of the Ryle name are English place names given to persons who lived at or near the places called Ryal/Ryle, Northumberland; Ryle, manor in Cheshire; Ryal, Yorkshire. Spelled Rihella in 1086 Domesday Book; Rihull, 1212-1219 records; Ryel in 1256. name means "rye hill." credit Dr Wm Ryle, Tucker Ga, descend Elijah Ryle, Rabbit Hash Boone Co Ky. Two Ryle coats of arms in Burke's Book of Landed Gentry. I used Ryle as to repeat variations takes too long. Haven't found Edward yet either.
