I read with interest that we descend from the same William H. Ribble Jr. Though I might guess the answer, I will beg the question and ask what the notation, +, between his own and his "mate's" name denotes. I ask because he married Minnie F. Fink. William Jr. and Minnie were my father's parents.

William H. Ribble died at 38 years of age. He committed suicide knowing that he was succumbing to general paresis, a fatal consequence of untreated syphillis.

In other words, William H. Ribble Jr was-- euphemistically speaking--a philanderer. Needless to say my grandmother had long, intense and very mixed feelings about my grandfather.

And by the way, hello Cousin, Jeanne.
