Joe, I have some information for you. I found a family group sheet in my files that names your family but unfortunately the record does not bare the name of the submitter so I can't connect you to Dr. Chris. Yet. Here is what I found
James Alfred Ribble b July 11, 1919 Fairmount IN. m Dec 24 1939 to Melba Louise Payne. Miss payne was b May 11, 1920 Grant Co. IN
Father of James Alfred Ribble was William Horton Ribble and mother was Mary Hazel Emerick.
James A. Ribble and Melba Payne had three children
1. Daniel William Ribble b April 5 1941 m1 Phylis Brookshire 1962 m2 Dearough Greenlee 1972 m3 Sherry McGraw Pernod 1985
2. Jon Allen Ribble b June 8 1943 m1 Carolyn Campbell 1968 m2 Karen Sherry 1977
3. James David Ribble July 1 1949 m Marilyn Will 1972
All three of these children were born in Marion, Grant co IN
As for Dr. Christopher being in the Rev. War with George Washington it is a family tradition. There is a book published by Mable Milliken Warner who records that story and it is very interesting but it is not well documented. It does stimulate the imagination though and it could be true. The Warner book is no longer in publication but the National Archives and the LDS library in Salt Lake do have copies of it. It seems to me that your uncles Jon and Daniel would both still be living. Have you tried locating them? I will see what I can find for you.
