I am reading old forums tonight to see if I can find anything I might have missed over the years.

What I find interesting is that we haven't found proof of any connection between your line and mine (Adam), yet we have all heard the Lord Ribblesdale story from our grandfathers.

A few years ago I read where at the turn of the century (19th to 20th)some company was running a scam and would do family history research for a certain fee. This company told many different families that 3 brothers came over from Europe and settled in different parts of the country.

In the story handed down through the generations to me was that they stowed away on a ship from England. Did your story state anything about that? If that is not a part of your story I think it might have gotten confused over the years and be partially true for the other line. I have a teen ager that appears in the states. On his census records he states that he was born in England but I can find no records.
