I have recently taken over some research from my mother on the HEALD family and am further looking into a RICKABAUGH connection. I.P. RICKABAUGH was born in Ohio abt 1854. He is in Kansas around 1875 where one of his children is born. In the 1880 census he is found in Oak, Smith Co., Kansas with wife Eliza b 1854 in Iowa, Jessie (cousin)b. 1856 in Iowa, Annie (daug)b. 1875 Kansas, and John b. 1879 Ohio. I haven't located him in the 1885 Kansas census.

He next appears in 1895 in White Rock, Smith Co., Kansas. With wife now M.E. b 1870 Illinois (She is somehow connected to the HEALD family). Children are L.A. (female)b 1877 Kansas, R.D. (male) b 1883 Kansas, Flowrence (female) b. 1888 (I think this is actually Lawrence, a male child, in error), Lucie b 1891 Kansas, and Charley b. 1893 Kansas.

In 1900, again in Oak, Smith, Kansas, now appears Mary RICKABAUGH as daughter in the household of Mary M. HEALD (due to statements in Mary HEALD'S husband's pension records, she must be adopted child of the HEALD'S not a natural child.) Mary RICKABAUGH'S children are Robbie b 1883 (listed as a step-granchild), Lawrence, b. 1886, Lucey b. 1890, and Charley b. 1892.

In 1905 M.E. RICKABAUGH is
