Johann RICKERT arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Halifax in 1754.Before 1773, he married a Magdalena WENABLE/VENABLE in the Germantown area where her father owned a business on the Wissahicken River. Their first child, Richard (1773-1857) was born there.Shortly after the RICKERT family migrated to what would late become Schuylkill County, PA.The rest of the children were born there.Richard married Christina GILBERT in 1795. Sarah (1775-1847) married Jonathan ZWEITZIG in 1794.Next was Rachael (1779-after 1846) to John HASSLER.Johannes (1781-abt 1827) married Rosina M. (WEIMAN) Glaes.Elizabeth (1785-xxxx) married a Henry REIGEL.George (1783-?), Michael (1787-?), and Joseph (1789-?) were not in the Orwigsburg area when their father's estate was settled.Magdalena had also left the area.Nothing more is known of the last 3 sons and the mother. Some of the grandchildren remained in the area while others migrated to Illinois with some continuing on to Iowa.
