Just an update... While at Portland ME historical society, I came across an old map of Brunwsick, and lo and behold, it is called SCITUATE - I inquired about this at the Brunswick HS (Pejepscot) while I was there recently, and it was news to them.... They did have a copy of the map there, but never knew it was formerly called SCITUATE. So, Soffe's name place for Brunswick was correct in that regard, but the place was actually Brunswick, which at that time, incorporated several other towns, including Harpswell, etc.
