Where have you already searched? As far as internet resources, which are unreliable but a great place to start gathering info, go to the LDS' website (www1.familysearch.com), where you'll find many people have gotten tons of Rideout info togetherómore than you'll want, I'm certain. I am in the process of checking this against as many other sources as I can (I'll email you more about this) to "clean it up," as there are frequent errors, such as one kid mentioned three times or impossible birthdates. It is a long task if you are going through it all. I intend to have this on a website pretty soon (maybe another month or so...)

Your guy John Getchell is supposed to be a brother of my Isaac Chase. If I could only find some more certain info on my Isaac! I think finding it all sitting there for you on the internet is a double-edged sword. You can take it at face value, or you can spend a lot of efforts to prove the truth of it.

As a "distant cousin," I would love to add your lineage to my work. If you have it collected in a database, email me a gedcom (or text file). I really appreciate sources if you have them. When I get this line, along with the others I research, up to the web, I am hopeful that I will reach people who don't find these queries, and that someone may know just that little bit that adds to the pot of knowledge.

Hope this helps. Happy hunting!
