James Ridinger 7/29/99
Jim, I have sequence of wives for my GG grandfather Samuel Ridinger born in 1805 in Montgomeery Co Virginia, moved to TN and on to Jefferson Co Iowa.
#1 was Mary Blakley m. June 28 in TN
Children were: Sarah Ann, Alexander Blakley (my G grandfather,) John Whitlock, Isaac, George H., Martha F., Mary Elizabeth, and Effie, all born in Warren Co TN.except possibly Effie who may have been born near Memphis in 1839. Samuel and Mary left Tn in 1839 for Iowa. Children born in Iowa were Caroline,Infant, Louisa Isabella, Infant.
Mary Blakley died in 1847.
.
Wife #2 Sarah Webb Chipman. m. Dec. 20, 1849
Their children were: Samuel Marion, and Jane Caroline. Sarah died died May 3, 1868.
Wife #3 Leah Hickenbothem Coop (sp?) m. before 1871.
Their child was Leah Adeline born 1/10/1871 and died 12/23/1872.
Their child was Leah Adeline born 1/10/1871 and died 12/23/1872.I am not sure the Michael born in 1801 was brother of Sameul 1805. I have letters from two decendants who were researching the family in 1974. They both say 1805 had a brother Michael that was in the war of 1812. He would have been too young unless someone was confused as to which war he was in.
I recently run accross some info that a Michael Ridinger was married to Elizebeth Pefley in Botetourt County on August 19, 1809. I understand part of Botecort county became Montgomery Co. That Michael would have been old enough to be in th war of 1812.
Have no other information on him. ????????
