Regarding Mike Shuberts followup of 8/07/2006, August Rieck was my uncle. He came to the U.S. in1882 with his father Carl, mother, Johanna and sister Meta. They finally settled on a farm near Wheeling, W.Va. I last visited with Uncle August in 1949 when I was in the army. I think he had a farm in Burlingame and I know Leonard had a big wheat farm there. Augusts son, Carl, had an Amoco gas station in town. August had a brother, William and a sister, Emma along with four other brothers and three other sisters. I know there are relatives in or near Burlingame who are interested in geneology but I don't have names or addresses. Perhaps my sister could help. She has done a lot of research but not a lot on the Riecks as yet. I know Grampa Carl had two half brothers who settled in Pittsburgh and and started Riecks Sealtest ice cream co. there. There will be a Rieck reunion on June 23rd 2007 near Wheeling. My sister has details. She can be reached at: rena.bonar@verizon.net
