My gr.grandmother, Maria Rieck, and her husband, Johann Rieck, were both born in Pommern. She was the d/o Carl Huehr and Mary Boatman?? My gr. grandmother was b. in Germany in 1846. I am fairly certain they lived in Chicago before coming to Peoria, IL.
My gr.grandparents were charter members of the Zion Lutheran Church, in Peoria, and he was on their first Council. I found that the other side of my family, Thurman and Krueger, all knew the Rieck family before the grandchildren married, since they went to the same church. If any of this sounds familiar, I'd like to hear from you.
