Good Morning Joy,

No, I don't believe "our" Jakob Rieger is linked to your family. Jakob was the name of three Riegers in our direct lineage, but none were in US early enough, 1850s, to have married into you lines. None of our family has links to anywhere in US other than SD from 1898 to the present.

It is possible that your Jakob Rieger, who may have come to US 1830-40s, may have immigrated directly from Germany, instead of So.Russia (Odessa area) as our family did.
