There's another Rieke migration to the US -- Heinrich Johann C. Rieke (b. 1839 d. 1928) and his family and close friends arrived in Burlington Iowa in 1867, becoming part of a large German community there which also included families with the names Luebbers, Brenneke, Melzian and Hoelzen. The families were big, and there would be many descendants in the region today. They came from the Oldenburg area, and especially the villages of Westerlay, Westerstede, and Croja.
