Hi Dorothy,
It is already a few months ago since your answer. I'm writing you back now to thank you and to inform you that recently I got an e-mail from Adam Rienks, probably related to you. He said Gustaaf Adolf was a great-great-great-grandfather of his.
I found more information on a newly developed site:
http://www.historischekringhoogeveen.nlhttp://www.historischekringhoogeveen.nl
It seems Gustaaf and Christina (Johanna Christina Exel) already had four children born between 1898 and 1902. 1 of them died young. Dutch laws forbid to give information about birth younger than 100 years, so at the moment I haven't got more. I would very much like to know in what year the family emigrated to the US.
One last remark on your father being an inventor: he got it from no stranger, as you know. Pretty interesting is that nowadays there is an Emile Rienks, employed in the same Leiden University as Sieds. And there also seems to be a Rienks at the Freiburg University in Germany!
If you can send me more info on the Rienksen in your family tree I will incorporate them in my genealogy program.
Maybe I will put everything I got on a CD-ROM or a website if I can find the time.
Regards, Ad
