I have some RISENBURGs in my family tree but they are extremely difficult to sort out. One of the biggest reasons for this is the transcribers of information forget that much of the script in the 1850s and 1860s was still heavily laden with german inflections. Unfortunately the double "s" becomes "pp" or "ff" or "tt" and the list goes on and on. My RISENBURGs were living among the LOYALISTS in Niagara Township, Lincoln County, Ontario.
John Risenburg married Catherine Haines and they were granted land in 1808 because Catherine was the daughter of LOYALIST Nathaniel Haines.
Their descendant list could be?
John Risenburg + Catherine Haines
*John Risenburg + Catherine
**David Risenburg + Eliza Jane
***Daniel L. Risenburg
***Lewis D. Risenburg
***James G. Risenburg
***David C. Risenburg
***Levinas N. Risenburg
***Lydia A. Risenburg
***Catherine Ritinburg
***Eliza J. Risenburg
***Philip W. Risenburg
***John E. Risenburg
**Catherine Risenburg + Jacob Boice
I believe that John and Catherine returned to the U. S. between 1810-1830 and came back to Ontario again.
See if you can fit this into your tree.
Jim
