Researching my RIEVE family from Kolmar Province, Posen, Prussia that immigrated to Michigan. Here's what I know about the first two generations: Descendants of Unknown Rieve Generation 1 1. UNKNOWN1 RIEVE was born about 1830. He married WILHELMINA SCHMIDT. She was born about 1830. Unknown Rieve and Wilhelmina Schmidt had the following child: 2. i. FREDERICK JOHN2 RIEVE was born on 18 Jul 1854 in Brodden, Kolmar, Posen, Prussia. He died on 06 Jan 1936 in Clarence Twp, Calhoun Co., Michigan. He married ALBERTINE WILLELMINE LINDO on 04 Jan 1878 in Albion, Calhoun Co., Michigan, daughter of Frederick Lindo and Augusta Kranze or Kraus. She was born on 24 Jan 1855 in Heinrichshof, Posen. She died on 10 Jun 1951 in Calhoun Co., Michigan. Generation 2 2. FREDERICK JOHN2 RIEVE (Unknown1) was born on 18 Jul 1854 in Brodden, Kolmar, Posen, Prussia. Notes for Frederick John Rieve: Family tradition says that Fred and Willamina came over from Germany, probably in the 1800's. Betty said in Jul 2005 that they'd finally found the grave of "Grandpa" (possibly referring to Grace's father) or her (possibly referring to Grace's) Grandpa. The spelling on the grave stone was without the last "r" - Rieve. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=riever&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=2 4&GSob=n&GRid=8214557& Frederick J.
