So glad to hear from a Rife relative! Some of my dates are different from yours, but yours are probably correct since you got them from the courthouse. The only date I have proof of is the marriage of William Rife and Martha J. Collins in 1819 in Jefferson County, MS.
My grandfather was William Rife Wade, whose father was Lawrence Thompson Wade (Jr.), whose mother was Mary Jane Rife. My records show that Mary Jane Rife had a sister Martha, who would have been your great grandmother.
The info I have shows William Rife being the son of ___?___ Rife and Mary Rutledge. They had 3 children. When Mr. Rife died, about 1799, she married a Peter Chambliss and they had 7 children.
I have no info any farther back than that - not where William Rife was born or died, and nothing about any of his ancestors other Mary Rutledge. Also, no info at all about Martha J. Collins, other than she was supposedly born in Kentucky.
I will be grateful for any information you would be willing to share. Lillian Wade Hyde
