Hello cousin! I know this thread is old, but I don't often check the spelling of Rife in connection with our Riffe. For info on Capt Gord's ancestors, there is a great book by Fred Riffe called "Rieif to Riffe in America". As far as his descendants go, our ancester was indeed a charmer. He not only had children by two of his wives, but in the year 1872 he had three boys by three different women (our granny Rachel was one of the women.) My grandmother was Lydia Margaret Keene, sister to your Mandy (Amanda) Jane. I remember Aunt Mandy Jane very well, visited her with Momall (Lydia) and her husband Russell while going to Decoration Days. Probably met you too! We don't have a lot of info on Mandy Jane's family, just the names of the children. Would love to swap info with you. Also, looking for photos of Granny Rachel and any of the other family you have. We have two of Capt Gordon, but you probably have them. We also have a few of Granny Rachel but always looking for more! Email me at Debihula@aol.com.
