Not related.........just a lookup
From the census work I did Lydia Margaret Rife was the daughter of William Granvill(e) Rife and Cosby (maiden name unknown). Although none of the records I found showed Cosby (mother) maiden name.....I did find their death/cemetery record so you will be able to order these documents which should show maiden name, with luck.

The census records are very important for this family group because there are numerous RIFE men born around the same time frame,in the same area, and they named their children the same names. It can be very confusing.

Only found one person working this Rife family group on the public web posted TREEs. But it is a current one so the email address should still be good. Hopefully you will be able to share data. With the cemetery link I sent you, you now have more birth/death info than this tree does for this one family group.

This is probably her brother Bascom Rife death record. I am sending it over to you because you just never know on who death certificate the mother Cosby's maiden name will be listed on.
