Information I have concerning RIFE is that they were Mennonites (Anabaptists) from Switzerland who emigrated to Holland (may have stopped in the Palatinate along the way) then to PA in early/mid 1700's. Original name was REIFF. My line then moved to Ontario, Canada in early 1800's and eventually homesteaded in North Dakota in 1880's.
