Seeking info about the Rife brothers, John & Edwin, builders of the “Maryland” automobile, in 1906. Their company, Sinclair Scott Co., built the car at a factory at Wells & Patapsco streets in Baltimore. It had a reputation "for being the solidest of the extra solid cars of its day." Cost about $2,750, or about $70,000 in today’s dollars. John Rife had a son named John W. who was still alive in 1956. He may be the John William Rife b. 5 Feb 1916 in Maryland; d. 3 Feb 1990, age 73, at Winston Salem, Forsyth County North Carolina; married.
