Is Chariton and Caldwell a part of Ray County, or are they all parts of Cocke County, TN? Or did't I hear right one time that Ray is a part of Cocke County? N.C. to TN, probably Cocke County, to Chariton or Ray County, MO. What else is strange about our Riggs line? We have no modern day Riggs of this line that we know for sure about. Two of the boys died in Civil War times, a third died after he had been married just a little while. One of the first born daughters died young; our Charity of this family married a Hutton, whose daughter married into our Downings; of the other children we don't know anything. But there are Riggs in the same area where my folks lived. One family even came to the funeral of my gr grandfather Lewis. His Rigg line doesn't go back and connect to any Riggs we have been looking at, though.
