HEMPHILL, TX - Services to celebrate the life of Mrs.Georgia B. Riggs, 78, will be held Monday, August 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mr. Greg McGowen and Mrs. Sally McGowen of Fanshawe Community of Christ Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones Sunday evening between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georgia was born on October 9, 1930, in Bethany, TX and entered into rest on Thursday, August 28, 2009. Mrs. Riggs was a longtime resident of Kenner, LA. After she retired from the Kenner Police Dept., Georgia and Maxey moved to Toledo Bend at Hemphill, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Maxey S. Riggs, Sr.; son, Claude M. Riggs; father, George M. Bagley; and brothers, Herman Don Bagley and Gene M. Bagley. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mrs. Rebecca Bagley of Oil City, LA; daughters, Gina Riggs of Poteau, OK, Alice Marszalek and husband, Greg of St. Paul, MN; step-sons, Maxey S. Riggs, Jr. of Anchorage, AK, Robert P. Riggs and wife, Elizabeth of New Orleans, LA; sister, Joan Cathey of Shreveport, LA; brother, Cleveland Bagley and wife, Alice of Anniston, AL; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Dupee', Clayton Cathey, Greg Marszalek, Pete Dupee', and Tommy Dupee'.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Special Olympics.
