Well hello, it is nice to hear from you. I think I have most of the information you sent, but thank you. The information I am looking for includes: Have you ever heard that Jane was at least part Cherokee? Have you ever heard anything about her parents? I THINK, they were proably Joseph and Hannah Stone Morris, both born in North Carolina in 1797/98. They married in 1820 in Edwards County. I SUSPECT, but can't prove Joseph may have been a son of an Isaac Morris, who was described as a "backwoodsman of the true type". He had a large family and had a cabin in the Bompas area.

I live in Olney, Illinois, are you anywhere close? I also have a copy of a court document naming all of Jane's brothers and sisters.
